Description
Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, 41, is a well-known figure with a track record of excellence in the fields of aviation, transportation, and energy. He started his career as an airline pilot before gaining executive positions in air carriers. He is still flying and rated on the Pilatus PC-12.
In 2017, he was elected member of the French Parliament. In 2019, he was appointed to French government and was cabinet minister for Transport for nearly 3 years. As minister, he focused on modernization of the rail system, decarbonization of the automotive & aviation sectors, and the development of satellite applications for air transport. He created the Advanced research agency for Transport to work on breakthrough technologies in the fields of mobility and logistics.
After politics, Jean-Baptiste was the executive Chairman of Hopium, a French start-up that develops hydrogen fuel-cell systems and vehicles, where he built strong partnerships to develop sustainable energies (hydrogen production and energy storage) and tailored plans for industrialization. Jean-Baptiste is now Managing partner of Magellan infrastructure Partners (independent subsidiary of the Magellim group, 4bn€ AUM), a fund dedicated to the financing of infrastructures in the fields of green energy, decarbonized mobility, and resource preservation.
Jean- Baptiste graduated from Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile and Ecole Polytechnique. He is also an auditor of the Institute of Advanced Studies of national defense and Air Force colonel of the French army reserve.
