Bio

Barbara Lavernos is L’Oréal Groupe’s Deputy CEO, in charge of Research, Innovation and Technology. An engineer by training, she joined the Groupe in 1991, where she pursued a very diverse career. After becoming the Director of the Rambouillet plant in 2000, she was appointed as the Groupe’s Purchasing General Manager in 2004, before being entrusted with the General Management of Travel Retail markets in 2011. In 2014, she joined L’Oréal’s Executive Committee as she became the Groupe's Chief Operations Officer. At the end of 2018, she was given the additional responsibility of leading the IT transformation, with the ambition of establishing L’Oréal as the World leader of Beauty Tech. In February 2021, Barbara Lavernos took the helm of the newly created Department of Research, Innovation and Technology, with a dual ambition: enabling L’Oréal to invent the Beauty of the future, while transforming itself into the Company of the future.
