Founded in 2018 by Jean-Christophe Lambert, Thibault Baldivia, Clément Dinel and Benoît Ferran, Ascendance Flight Technologies' mission is to decarbonize aviation.
Based since 2020 in Toulouse, the European Capital of Aeronautics, the company is developing two products for aviation:
-an innovative hybrid electric propulsion system called Sterna
and Atea, an eVTOL (vertical take-off and landing aircraft) equipped with Sterna propulsion technology
STERNA, Ascendance Flight Technologies' hybrid electric propulsion technology, has a key role to play in the decarbonization of aviation. Its unique, patented architecture and onboard system optimize the use and consumption of multiple energy sources in flight. Designed to be modular and scalable, Sterna can be adapted to different types of engine (thermal or hydrogen in the near future), making it the pilot for the energy transition in aviation.
ATEA will be the very first eVTOL equipped with Sterna technology, making it the future of regional transport. With a capacity of 5 people on board (4 passengers and 1 pilot), this vertical take-off and landing aircraft offers a low-carbon alternative to helicopters. Thanks to its 400km range and very low noise emissions (compared to a traditional helicopter), Atea perfectly meets the need for a more responsible regional and decentralized aviation, whether for the transport of passengers, goods, medical emergencies or security missions.
