Born in Paris on 18 November 1982, Marlène Schiappa is a graduate in communication and new media. Her professional career includes: Assistant, then in charge of monitoring new media for the Euro RSCG agency, Journalist for Yahoo.fr, Editorial director of a news agency, Founder of the "Maman travaille" network, Novelist and essayist.
Her previous electoral offices include: Deputy to the Mayor of Le Mans, Jean-Claude Boulard; delegate for equality from 2014 and Community adviser, delegate for French Tech at Le Mans Métropole.
On 17 May 2017, Marlène Schiappa was appointed Minister of State for Gender Equality, attached to the Prime Minister.
