Born in Paris on 18 November 1982, Marlène Schiappa is a graduate in communication and new media. Her professional career includes: Assistant, then in charge of monitoring new media for the Euro RSCG agency, Journalist for Yahoo.fr, Editorial director of a news agency, Founder of the "Maman travaille" network, Novelist and essayist.
Her previous electoral offices include: Deputy to the Mayor of Le Mans, Jean-Claude Boulard; delegate for equality from 2014 and Community adviser, delegate for French Tech at Le Mans MĂ©tropole.
On 17 May 2017, Marlène Schiappa was appointed Minister of State for Gender Equality, attached to the Prime Minister.
