Nathalie Laneret is the Director of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL) in Brussels. CIPL is a global think tank working with industry leaders, regulatory authorities and policymakers to develop global solutions and best practices for privacy and the responsible use of data to enable the modern information age.
Nathalie has more than 20 years of experience both in-house and in private practice. She was previously Group Data Protection Officer at Capgemini where she was responsible for managing the DPO network and defining the Group's implementation strategy for the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Before joining Capgemini, she worked for the 3M group as a senior legal counsel on contracts, competition law, litigation and compliance matters. She started her career as an attorney admitted to the Paris and New York bar with the French law firm August & Debouzy. She is a graduate in EU law from Robert Schuman University (Strasbourg, France) and holds an LL.M degree in American law from Duke University School of law (Durham, USA).
Nathalie sits on the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Privacy Bar Section Advisory Board and is a member of the task force of the Cloud Infrastructure Service Providers in Europe (CISPE) Code of Conduct. She teaches privacy courses at several Universities and regularly speaks at conferences in Europe on privacy and security matters.
