Aerdt Houben is currently Director Financial Markets at De Nederlandsche Bank, responsible for DNB's monetary operations, asset management, risk management, market intellingence and investment operations. He is also professor 'Financial Policies, Institutions and Markets' at the University of Amsterdam. He chair's the OECD's Financial Markets Committee and is a member of the Markets Committee and the Committee on the Global Financial System at the BIS. He has been a member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the Financial Stability Committee of the ECB and the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors, and has been active in numerous other policy committees in the context of the IMF, the Financial Stability Board, the Eurosystem, the European Systemic Risk Board, the EU’s Economic and Financial Committee and the EU supervisory committee CEIOPS.
