Institut Pasteur

Digital Business and Program Manager

Description

Antonio Borderia has a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. He did a postdoc in Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He studied host-pathogen interactions to develop models of the complex immunological response to viral infections. He joined the laboratory of Marco Vignuzzi at Institut Pasteur in 2010 where he worked in the understanding of the adaptation and emergence of viruses using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatic tools to study the selection of variants with effects on the viral fitness and virulence. In 2014, he joined the recently created Center for Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics, and Integrative Biology at Institut Pasteur to coordinate all actions aimed to boost the capacities in bioinformatics and biostatistics for the Institut Pasteur International network. These actions led him to develop industrial and academic partnerships to develop tools for data sharing and analysis until 2018, when he joined the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at Institut Pasteur. In the TTO, he is working on the strategy to valorize software and data created. In the recent years, he has successfully led several important collaborations around software and data, and it´s implicated in the development and acceleration of technologies around AI and data.
