Description

Meigan Díaz Corona holds a degree in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey and has extensive experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of programs linked to the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and youth empowerment. In 2018 she was selected as Mexico's Youth Delegate to the United Nations and has collaborated with the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth, Global Changemakers and the World Federation of United Nations Associations. In terms of sustainable development and gender equality projects, Meigan was a consultant for the evaluation of a national women's empowerment program with the Trust for the Americas, served as Head of the Campaigns Division of My World Mexico, and interned with the Agenda 2030 Initiative of the German Sustainable Development Cooperation (GIZ). Connecting her interest in sustainable development and youth inclusion, Meigan founded Involucratec, an organization that empowers young people to lead projects that contribute to sustainable development in their community. The initiative has worked with more than 4,000 young people in Mexico since its inception in 2015. Meigan has been selected to participate in international youth leadership summits in Switzerland, South Korea and England and has received recognition such as the "Generation Change Award" at the MTV MIAW Awards. Meigan is currently pursuing her Master of Public Policy with a concentration in Development and Economics at the National University of Singapore after being awarded a full scholarship for her studies.
